CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is one of over a hundred other naturally occurring cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plants. The two main active chemicals in Cannabis are THC (∆-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD.
Is CBD legal?
In December of 2018, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that extracts and cannabinoids derived from the Hemp plant are no longer illegal. However, cannabis containing more than .3 percent THC is still considered federally illegal. Full spectrum CBD oil products must have low levels (≤ .3%) THC.
What is the best way to take CBD?
There are several ways you can take your CBD and that depends solely on your preference. Some people like to ingest CBD through a tincture, an edible, smoke hemp flower, vape, or use a topical cream or salve.
CBD oil can come in one of three ways: full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate.
Full Spectrum:
Full spectrum hemp oil contains a whole bunch of cannabinoids as well as vitamins, minerals, and terpenes. There are trace amounts of THC and other cannabinoids such as CBG, and CBN.
Broad Spectrum:
Broad spectrum CBD oil is similar to full spectrum, however it usually does not contain any THC.
Isolate:
Hemp CBD Isolate is Cannabidiol in its purest form. It does not contain and THC and has no taste or smell.
